My Spring Favorites: Home Decor, TV and Clothes!

Greetings from the House of Qs!

I hope all of you are staying healthy and safe during this strange and uncertain time. At the House of Qs, we are practicing social distancing and only going out when we need food/supplies, etc. Luckily, I am able to work from home and my husband's job keeps him away from most people.

It feels so strange to even write a blog post while we are doing our best to get through these times. Over the last week, I've debated whether to even write a blog post right now. After a lot of debate, I decided to try to do something that feels "normal" and to continue doing things that I enjoy. The first week that I was working from home, I watched the news constantly. I was turning into a doomsday prepper and researching homesteading ideas. All of the news coverage was starting to bring me down and I needed a way to decompress and unplug from what is happening around me.

To help me decompress, I started to look for better days that are indeed ahead. Some days it doesn't feel like we will ever feel a sense of normalcy again. Don't believe that... we will find our new normal and start to enjoy our lives again. We will be able to spend time with our friends and family, in-person and be able to travel again! I don't know when or how long it will take, but I do believe it will happen :).

One of the best parts of spring (in my opinion) is spring cleaning! It's out with the old and in with the new! There's no better feeling than decluttering a room, deep cleaning an area of your home, adding a fresh coat of paint to your rooms, or simply changing out winter bedding for spring bedding. I  love to add a few new things to my house (new throw pillows, a new patio set) and to my wardrobe to help usher in the feeling of springtime.

Below are a few of my most favorite things for spring. Links to products are in each photo caption. I hope you decide to add a few new spring things to your home/wardrobe as well!

I love this blue voile top from Talbots! It is also available in a pretty sunshine color.

For some reason, I'm really into gingham this spring. This top (also from Talbots) is adorable and I can't wait to wear it with white capris. Wouldn't it be adorable with a bold color pant as well? I'm thinking yellow or red for summer.

If you use this link to make a purchase with Talbots, you will get 25% off your purchase!

I'm also loving this top from J. Jill. It is so comfortable! This top goes with a pair of black pants for work, but can easily be worn with black shorts or capris for weekend/more casual needs.

An easy and inexpensive way to freshen up your porch is to update your doormat. I think this "hello" doormat from Target is perfect for spring.

I also like this doormat from QVC and Candace Cameron Bure. She has a small line of home goods and beauty products on QVC.

Also available in her line on QVC is this sweet little promise box with cards of encouragement. We could all use a pick-me-up right now :)

This "Crowded Beach" picture from Hobby Lobby is keeping me inspired and encouraged that our world will get better. I'm looking forward to being able to travel again soon!

This balcony picture from Hobby Lobby would be a great fit in a few rooms in our house. It reminds me of a balcony in Savannah. :)

If you are in need of a new planner, check out the Simplified Planner options from Emily Ley. I love this pineapple crested planner but there are tons of other designs and products for you to choose from. Emily Ley is a small-town girl (Pensacola, Florida is her hometown and she still lives there with her family) who started a small business to help women be/stay more organized. I follow her blog and love the freebies and inspiration that she shares. You can find her blog here. I've downloaded several of her free phone and iPad backgrounds/wallpapers as well. My suggestions for TV that has kept me sane (thus far) are listed below.

Modern Love- Amazon Prime. Watch this from start to finish. We knocked out all eight episodes in a day!

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel- Amazon Prime. This is a great show but I don't recommend watching it with kids. It's a period piece (America in the 1950s) and it is executed so well. This is easily one of my all-time favorite shows and I can't wait for season four!

The Morning Show- Apple TV.  What's not to love about Jen Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell?

The Crown- Netflix. Put away everything you thought you knew or felt about the British Royal Family... This show was eye-opening for me.

The Office- Netflix. On constant rotation at the House of Qs for the past three weeks.

Tiger King- Netflix. There is nothing I can say to prepare you for this show. It's baffling and addictive. You can't stop watching once you've seen the first episode. You might need a flow chart for episode two to help you with sorting out the colorful cast of characters.

I hope that you found a few things to add to your home, wardrobe or TV watching agenda!
