Labor Day at the Atlanta Zoo

Hey Y'all!

Happy Labor Day! Although we spent most of the weekend hunkered down at home to avoid all of the traffic in metro Atlanta, we did venture out today and made a visit to the Atlanta Zoo.

The zoo was packed (that's to be expected) and the weather was down right steamy. Hubs and I were sticky by the time we got back to the car. We decided to have a late lunch in midtown Atlanta at Tin Drum. If you are in the area, Tin Drum is worth the stop. Here is a link to the menu.

Here are a few pictures of our meal from Tin Drum.

Kung Po Chicken (spicy)

Sweet and Sour Chicken

Now, back to our trip to the zoo. :) Enjoy the pictures!

A very menacing Kori Bustard

My favorite of all animals, the flamingos!

The flamingos were taking a nap.. and they smelled terribly.
Another of the napping flamingos.
Aren't they beautiful?

This guy cracked us up. He was in a little bath.. He would throw water over his head but I couldn't catch him on camera!

Another of the gorillas.

One of the pandas that we have been hearing so much about on the local media. He/she must have been exhausted. :)

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Labor Day! What did you do over the long weekend?

Until next time,

  1. I also like the flamingos. I want to try the Tin Drum. I have heard good things about it.

  2. Tin Drum is amazing! There's another location in downtown Atlanta but I'm not sure where. Flamingos are my favorite. :)
