In this installment of Southern Spotlight I introduce to you, Chrissy Mangrum. Take a look at our interview below...
Describe yourself in five words...
Christian, honest, trustworthy, loving, helpful
You have dedicated a large part of your life to teaching and leading children. Tell me how you chose this career path…
My grandmother and mother were teachers so I automatically leaned in that direction. Once I got my K-8 degree, I found my heart pulled towards special needs, so I got my masters in Speech Language Pathology.
Tell me about your faith and your church life...
My Faith is everything to me. It has brought me through much sickness and loss as well as brought me closer to my Lord and Savior. I have a wonderful church life at Abundant Life Worship Center where I teach Sunday school and direct Vacation Bible School.
What is your favorite color? Why?
My favorite color is green. Green represents "new" and nature.
What is your favorite season? Why?
My favorite season is spring, I love to see the plants blooming and the trees sprouting leaves. Temperatures are not too cold or too hot!
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
My favorite holiday is a tie between Christmas and Easter, the earthly birth of Christ and his resurrection!
What is your decorating style?
Modern country, I like my modern comforts with a flare of country.

How do you balance it all?
Balancing my life is never easy, in addition to my church, my family and my job I have a chronic condition that makes everyday activities difficult at times. During those times I give my woes to God and lean on my family for any help I might need. Most days I just rely on my calendar to keep track of my activities. If I lose my calendar I am lost!
