I love monkey bread but have always been so intimidated to make it on my own. I found a simple recipe online and made a few small adjustments and I'm so happy with the end result.
What you will need:
1/2 cup of sugar
2 cans of Pillsbury Grands Homestyle biscuits (I used the Wal-Mart brand)
1 cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 sticks butter, melted
Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.
Lightly grease bundt pan (I use Baker's Joy)
Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a large Ziploc bag
Use a pizza cutter to cut biscuits into quarters and drop biscuit quarters into the Ziploc bag
Shake the biscuits in the bag until everything is covered evenly
Arrange the biscuit pieces in the greased pan.
Melt the two sticks of butter in a bowl in your microwave and mix with the cup of brown sugar. Stir very well. Pour the mixture over the top of the biscuits in the bundt pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes (depending on your oven) or until golden brown. Let the pan and bread cool for about 10 minutes. Place a pretty plate over the top of the pan. Flip the pan over and serve. Pull apart and enjoy this ooey, gooey goodness! You could also serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
