In today's Southern Spotlight I introduce to you, Angie Butcher. Christian, Teacher, Wife, Mommy, Thirty-One Director and Disney Fanatic. This lady wears many hats!
I first met Angie about five years ago when I contacted her to order and sign up to sale Thirty-One. Since that time, I have watched her follow her dreams both personally and professional. It has been a pleasure getting to know her through the years and I look forward to seeing what God has in store for her life.

Describe yourself in five words...
Christian, caring, outgoing, compassionate and blessed.
Why did you choose teaching as a profession?
Since I was a child, I knew that my call in life was with children. I babysat as a teenager and became involved in the childrens ministries at my churches. Children are my passion and being able to be a positive influence in their lives is what I live for. Children need to know and feel that they are loved, feel that someone believes in them. What better way to do those things than to be a teacher.
Tell me about your Thirty-One business.
I love being able to help women find their calling in life. Some women decide on being a stay-at-home mother while others desire to work full-time. Being a director with Thirty-one has allowed me to help celebrate, encourage, and reward women. I signed up to be a consultant with Thirty-one in December 2010 just to buy the kit. Yes, I was a “kit-napper” as we call it with Thirty-one. But once I began carrying my items I quickly saw the amazing potential with this amazing company. After hearing how faith-based this company was, I was hooked. We offer products that are versatile and will benefit women of all ages and lifestyles. Every month we offer customers with some amazing customer specials and our hostess rewards are the best in the direct selling business. I love to spoil my hostesses by giving them something extra for hosting a party. There are no limits with Thirty-one and I love being able to help support my family while also empowering other women that join my team. My website is www.mythirtyone.com/angiebutcher and that is where you can find out more information on our company, products and current customer specials!
What is your favorite thing about Disney?
The magic. I was never blessed to go to Disney as a child so once we had children of our own I knew that we would definitely take our children. As a mommy, I love the magic in my childrens’ eyes when they meet/see their favorite characters and how those characters go above and beyond to make sure each encounter with the children is as magical as it can be. Once you step inside those gates at the Magic Kingdom, it’s like stepping outside of the natural “here-and-now” world and into a special bubble of happiness and magic. All of your cares just drift away and you enjoy each and every moment while there.
What is one thing that you MUST do when you visit Disney?
Meet as many characters as you can and watch the parades/fireworks. That’s the magic within Disney!
Shifting gears here... What are the keys to a happy marriage?
Communication. About. Everything. Communication builds trust and that builds a firm foundation for those days when things get a little rocky. Also, not sure if it’s appropriate, but lots of sex. Yes, I said it! Relieves stress and anxiety while intimating bonding with your mate.
Tell me about your faith and your church life...
My father was a preacher/evangelist since I was born. I was raised in a very strong faith household. I know that if it were not for God, I would not be where I am today. I fail Him daily yet his mercies are new to me every day. My relationship with God is the most important relationship in my life. I find ways every day to teach my children about how awesome God is and how we are designed to live for him and serve. My students know how big my faith life is and it’s very humbling when they come to me and ask for me to pray for them or their families. God is so good and He definitely placed the call on my life to be a teacher. I attend Word of Life Church in Logan, WV with my family. I’m heavily involved in our children’s ministry with teaching classes, directing the teen drama team, and a member of our special events choir. We are a non-denominational church who love God and believes what He says is true.
What is your favorite color?
Purple is my favorite color.
What is your favorite season?
Spring is my favorite season. To me, it demonstrates life, a new start.
What is your decorating style?
I have more of a modern style with decorating but with touches of country chic.

Your kids are ADORABLE!!! Tell my readers about your kids (i.e. personalities, interests, activities).
My kids are my life!! I have one daughter who is 7 years old, independent from the womb, and “bossy Flossy”. She definitely enjoys all things girly but is a beast in cleats….softball cleats. She is a great big sister and super intelligent with a huge heart. She is my best friend and says I am hers. She is a true daddy’s girl but her mommas best friend. We have the best shopping trips and girls days. She is obsessed with American Girl Dolls and has 13 in her collection. My son is 5 years old. I always say that God knows exactly what we need and He made Chase just for me. Chase is my mommas boy and cuddle bug. He asks to go “snuggle” on the couch with me often and of course I agree. Every story he tells is so dramatic with facial expressions and hand movements to match. Chase has the biggest servants heart that I have ever seen in a child. He cares about other people and things as simple as littering bother him so bad that he asks if we can come with garbage bags and pick it all up. His big sister is his life! He will do anything for her and do anything she says. He often asks to go buy her something special because he knows she would love it while never asking anything for himself. At Christmastime, he had to buy every girl in his preK class a gift so that no girl was left out. He’s obsessed with sharks, fishing, and YouTube. His favorite thing to do since he was 2 is to watch toy reviews on YouTube. We finally talked him into playing basketball this past winter and he was amazing! Plus, he loved it too! Yup, he steals my heart daily.
How do you balance it all?
It’s hard trying to balance being a mommy, wife, daughter, teacher, Thirty-One director, and ministry worker. I’ve learned it’s not about balancing as it is finding a “harmony” between them all. I have a great support system with my parents that help out with our children and my husband is amazing! He will do anything he can to help us out whether it be bath the children, put the children to bed, wash the clothes/dishes, cook dinner, pick the children up from school, take them to practices, etc. He is a Godsend and I am blessed!
Until next time...
