Kentucky Derby Party Planning

Hey Y'all!

Because most of us are not lucky enough to live in the great state of Kentucky, we have to live vicariously through those who do. If you have never visited Kentucky, you are missing out. The state has so much to offer including top notch universities, family friendly activities, some of the lowest crime rates in the nation and of course a love of horses and the Kentucky Derby.  The derby has really become more than just a horse race. It has grown and developed into a tradition that runs deep in Kentucky natives and transplants alike.

If you can't travel to the Kentucky Derby, you might as well bring the derby to your home! Below, you will find wonderful recipes, tips, resources and party planning ideas for your very own Kentucky Derby Party.  Remember that there's no wrong way to celebrate. The most important thing is that you do in fact celebrate.

I also go to Southern Living for derby party recipes. Here are a few of my favorites. Don't forget about the Benedictine Spread!
