I'm going to jump right into this post so stick with me! My dad fought in the Vietnam War and passed away almost nine years ago. If you have lost a parent, you know all too well the pain and suffering that comes along with the death of a loved one. It is something that you never really or truly recover from. You assimilate to the situation and try to move on with a normal life the best you can. Some days, I fail at that in the most miserable ways.
I guess part of my grieving process is looking through old pictures both online and in my personal collection. I think back to "better" days (whatever those may be) when everyone was younger, more carefree and sure about life.
I look at Vietnam War pictures on Pinterest weekly and always search the faces of the subjects in pictures looking for the all to familiar and kind face of my sweet daddy before he was actually my daddy. I had to catch my breath when I scrolled through a page of random Vietnam War pictures and saw a face that I recognized. I found him. I can't believe I found him!
I'm checking to see who the picture belongs to or who published it. I sent the picture to my mom and she also thinks it is my dad. The bag hanging across his body is actually a phone/walkie-talkie. He was the communications officer for the company/platoon. Check out the picture below.

I'm shaking just looking at this picture. There is a great possibility that this is my dad sometime between 1967 and 1969.
I would love to hear your thoughts about this. Do you know where this picture could have originated? I tried to search it on Pinterest but I just keep getting links to other pinners with no original post information.
Until next time,
